2009 Photo Contest

The Storefront Cinema Nights Event invites you to celebrate our special night with your special talent, If you are an avid Photo or Video buff we invite you to roam the Streets of Edmonton on Friday Oct 16 & Saturday Oct 17 during Edmonton’s Only Reel Street Film Festival.

Capture the moments and emotions of this event in still or video and send it in for a chance to Win $$$

Eligibility

All entries must have been taken at the Storefront Cinema Nights Event occurring on Oct 16 & 17 (see website for program details). The contest is open to the general public.

Format

Photos – Colour or black and white digital photographs. Must be at least 72dpi no bigger than 4 MB (4,000 KB).

Video – Submission to be no more than 60 secs (may be a part of, and linked to larger video on YouTube or similar public video database).

 

Note: Finalists will be requested individually to submit 300 dpi images, and /or links to their location.

Entries and Identification

Limit of two entries per entrant, for each of Friday & Saturday night events (total of 4 entries); all entries must be submitted via e-mail to: photocontest@thespurr.ca (please ensure full name, daytime phone number and valid email are included with each submission.)

Entries not meeting these format and identification requirements will not be eligible for judging.

Publication

Winners’ names and the top ten runner ups will be published in the print and online versions of the December SPURR. Storefront Cinema Nights is a production of the Stony Plain Road and Area Business Revitalization Zone and as such reserves the right to publish any entry and/or use any entry in promotional material.

Deadline

All entries must be received on or before midnight Monday November 2, 2009.

Judging

The winners will be chosen on November 12th, 2009. Decision of the judges is final. Winners will be notified by 5 p.m. EST on November 15th, 2009, via e-mail.

Prizes

1st Prize: $150 Photo and $150 for Video

2nd Prize: $100 Photo and $100 for Video

3rd Prize: $50 Photo and $50 for Video
